Common Mistakes to Avoid
Finding the median without sorting first
Fix: The median is the middle value of the sorted list. Always sort the numbers in ascending order before finding the middle.
Picking the middle of an unsorted list
Fix: The middle index of the original (unsorted) list is not the median. Sorting is mandatory.
Forgetting to average the two middle values for even counts
Fix: When the count is even, the median is the average of the two middle numbers, not one of them.
