Common Mistakes to Avoid
Averaging grade points without weighting by credits
Fix: A 4-credit course affects your GPA more than a 1-credit course. Always multiply grade points by credits before summing.
Using the wrong grade point scale
Fix: This calculator uses a standard 4.0 scale with plus/minus grades. If your school uses a different scale (e.g., 4.3 for A+ or weighted honors points), adjust the grade points accordingly.
Leaving a credit field blank but keeping the grade selected
Fix: A course with zero credits is excluded from the calculation. If you meant to include it, enter the credit hours — the selected grade alone does not contribute.
