Common Mistakes to Avoid
Averaging category percentages without weighting
Fix: A category worth 40% should count twice as much as one worth 20%. Always multiply each percentage by its weight before summing.
Entering weights that do not match the syllabus
Fix: Use the exact weights from your syllabus. If they do not sum to 100, the calculator normalizes them — but the relative values must still be correct.
Entering earned points as a percentage
